ROTI
Roti are Sri Lankan flatbreads, made with various flavourings. One of the most popular is coconut roti (aka pol roti), which is eaten for breakfast in central Sri Lanka. It’s made from plain flour, grated coconut, salt and water; the dough is shaped into balls and cooked on a skillet, then served with sambol – try coconut or chilli. For lunch or dinner, opt for chicken, curried beef or vegetable versions.
